well, i've arrived. and am already having a blast. the current tour cast and crew gave the newcomers a very warm welcome. everyone has been so friendly and fun, in fact, that i am already feeling a little sad about the handful of actors who will be leaving in august!

rehearsals have been so surreal and so ... sweaty. i cannot believe how quickly we are moving through the show. this friday, kayla (swing, u/s wendla and ilse), ben (ernst), john (adult man), and i will be doing a run-through of the first act! speaking of kayla, ben, and john, they are the greatest - charming, kind, hysterical and ridiculously talented. i feel so lucky to be working with them. i'm also pumped to spend the next year with them and, of course, with the original cast members who are staying on board.

i know there are so many other things i wanted to share but all that i can think of is "bitch of living" choreography.

so the bad news is i have tonsillitis and tendonitis. but the good news is i have tonsillitis and tendonitis NOW and not later. my life, which has been strictly regimented for the past couple of weeks in order to get prepared for rehearsals, is currently filled with relaxation. and i am not complaining.

i also want to announce that i have a twitter! well, i already had a twitter but the username made me feel so unprofessional. as a result, i created a brand new account . . . only to find out that i could have just changed the handle on the old account. i was pretty embarrassed. anyway, HERE IT IS. and to the four people who are following this blog at the moment: thank you!!! i hope this hasn't been extraordinarily dull.

is it really july already? i am feeling so anxious now because i will officially be a part of the spring awakening team this month! yesterday i had the chance to speak with abbie strassler, the general manager, and the talk of costume fittings and contracts is so unreal. but it really inspired me to buckle down and get ready for this stupendous opportunity. i have started singing while running in order to prepare for the cardiopulmonary "bitch of living," memorizing lyrics/dialogue, picking out harmonies as best i can, etc.

on a separate note, i just listened to a story on npr about an ocean that may exist on saturn and it made me reeeally want to go into space. i know, i know. who am i? lance bass?
